Portable Appliance Testing

Elecheck will prepare a programme of Portable Appliance Testing to meet the recommended guidelines for frequency of testing. We will provide fully trained PAT Testing Engineers who are friendly and well presented, offering minimal disruption to the day to day running of your organisation during testing and can also carry out work outside of office hours. Our main goal is to supply your company or organisation with a comprehensive and cost effective solution to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. We provide full tests and reports that clearly identify details of all the customer's assets. Our turnaround time on paperwork is within 14 days.

Microwave Leakage Testing

Microwave ovens are usually used on a daily basis and, after a period of time, the door seals can become faulty, causing leakage levels to exceed the recommended limit. Elecheck can 'bolt-on' Microwave Leakage Testing to a PAT Testing programme for a minimal charge. We use the latest equipment to check the radiation levels are within the legal limits as well as checking the door seals and the internal condition of the microwave.

Fixed Installation Testing & Initial Verification

Fixed Installation Testing or Periodic Inspection and Testing, as it is often referred to, is a report on the electrical wiring of a property, outlining any defects it may have that may prove to be a safety hazard. Our fully qualified electrical engineers inspect and test these services in accordance with the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS7671:2008. We also offer an efficient, competitive, initial verification and inspection service which is an independent report that confirms any new electrical installation work complies with current British Standards. Further to this, we have the facilities to produce full schematic diagrams showing the layout of the fixed installation.

Fire Alarm Testing & Inspection

All fire systems must be regularly tested and maintenance is essential as it will prolong the life of a system and discover any faults that may occur. A system that is not maintained can not be guaranteed to protect life and property. Elecheck inspects, tests and maintains fire alarm systems in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and British Standards BS 5839-6:2004. Once testing is complete we issue a certificate that confirms your compliance with these relevant regulations.

Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detection

Elecheck has installed over 20,000 smoke detectors in residential properties throughout the UK and manage the maintenance/battery replacement of over 30,000 detectors every year. All detectors installed are placed on our maintenance contact with detectors being inspected regularly to ensure they are operating correctly. To prevent any harm from carbon monoxide and to comply with British Standard BS7860: 1996, a CO detector should be fitted in every room where there is a gas or solid fuel appliance and should be replaced every five years from the date of manufacture. Elecheck can put together a programme for the installation of CO alarms into properties or provide it as part of a package.

Emergency Lighting Testing & Inspection

Elecheck carries out annual inspection and testing of emergency lighting systems to comply with BS 5266 Part 1 and BS 5266 Part 7. We undertake testing to make sure the lights operate for their rated period, signs are correct for the use, batteries are operating and all escape routes are illuminated correctly. Once testing is complete we issue a certificate that confirms your compliance with relevant regulations.

Thermographic Surveys

Thermal imaging is one of the most valuable diagnostic tools for predictive maintenance. By detecting anomalies often invisible to the naked eye, thermography allows us to identify problems before they happen. Elecheck's specialist thermographic engineers carry out a survey while all equipment or services are 'under load' or being used without the need to shut down services and with minimal disruption. The images are stored, and downloaded to specialist analysis software, after which your advisory report is prepared giving maintenance recommendations.

Lightning Protection

From an initial survey through to ongoing testing and maintenance services, Elecheck can ensure that you are provided with a service that protects your site from lightning strikes, dangerous voltages and electrical surges. Our engineers are able to ensure the continued, effective protection of any installed system by regular maintenance tests and inspections. Installations are tested to the relevant design standards of BS EN 62305 and the results of all maintenance visits are fully documented.

Water Risk Assessments

Elecheck provides water treatment solutions and consultancy services to industry and commerce throughout the UK. We can establish a suitable treatment regime to ensure compliance with ACOP L8, Workplace Directive and other relevant legislation. We carry out detailed site visits and the submission of risk assessments, as well as sampling of water for specific analysis. We then highlight areas of risk and can propose a full remedial action plan to bring our clients processes, systems and management procedures in line with legislation.
