Socket Overload Calculator

People often use extension leads in their houses to increase the number of appliances used in one socket, but even though there are 4 or more spaces there may be a chance you are overloading them.

Avoid overloading an extension lead by not plugging in appliances that together will exceed the maximum current rating stated for the extension lead. If you do overload it you could cause the plug in the socket to overheat which will increase the risk of fire.

Use the overload calculator below (Supplied by Electrical Safety First) to determine whether you are exceeding the maximum load or not.
